About the event
Learn a safe method to split wood with an axe. Get the skill to use an axe not just smash it with an maul. Then come the following day and take the fruits of our labor, all that nice split wood and learn the traditional ways Maine Guides use to bake in the North Maine Woods. Biscuits, corn bread, cinnamon rolls...doughnuts...you get the idea and the skills!
You don't have to be a Guide to sign up. This is a weekend Canoe trip on beautiful Cobbossee stream. We will teach paddle strokes and then paddle about 4 hours to camp where we will teach how to set up a wilderness camp kitchen and a solid camp in any conditions. We will teach camp cooking over an open fire, tarp setups, and wood splitting. All food and canoe gear is included in the price. ($400 for the weekend). Please provide your own tent and sleep system. This class will enable you to have the skills to stay safe and comfortable in the wilderness.
