About the event
For over 30 years the Maine Canoe Symposium has been meeting and celebrating all things canoeing. Maine Guides and Canadian Canoe professtionals volunteer at MCS and share their decades of canoe knowledge with you. Don't miss out on this huge opportunity. Learn more in one weekend from the pros than you could a year in the school of hard knocks.
You don't have to be a Guide to sign up. This is a weekend Canoe trip on beautiful Cobbossee stream. We will teach paddle strokes and then paddle about 4 hours to camp where we will teach how to set up a wilderness camp kitchen and a solid camp in any conditions. We will teach camp cooking over an open fire, tarp setups, and wood splitting. All food and canoe gear is included in the price. ($400 for the weekend). Please provide your own tent and sleep system. This class will enable you to have the skills to stay safe and comfortable in the wilderness.
